SCREEN PRINTING MEETS CERAMICS
CERAMICS
Ceramics are key to the process in Screen-printed Tiles, with the clay needing to move through its stages patiently and with care. Respecting the natural timing of ceramics is vital to reaching the final result successfully.
SCREEN PRINTING
Screen printing on ceramic needs to be flexible and adaptable. Since clay is the substrate, it requires coatings that can endure the firing process. This method calls for patience, accuracy, and careful timing to produce the intended results.
SCREEN-PRINTED TILES
In our main collection, Screen-Printed Tiles, the process starts at the plastic stage of ceramics, with each tile being made individually. Once the tiles are formed, the clay can be printed at various stages depending on the coating used, which may require careful timing.
Each edition is hand-pulled in our workshop, where designs are applied directly onto the clay. The process involves printing one color at a time, with each unit being manually pulled by hand.
Each step in our process of Screen-printed Tiles, from the careful handling of ceramics to the precise application of screen printing, emphasizes the artisanal, hands-on nature of our production. Each tile features a unique design, crafted either by us or in collaboration with artists and illustrators, bringing a distinct aesthetic to our collection.
Due to the handmade nature of the production of screen printing on ceramic, slight variations in color, format, and finish may occur, highlighting the individuality of each piece. Embracing these variations is a key part of the artisanal process, making every tile truly one-of-a-kind.
